Smart Healthy Baby Solid Food: Mac & Cheese

I want to keep my little-baby-beauty, Ella, as healthy as possible. So I feed her as ‘clean’ and organic as possible, when possible.

One of Ella’s favorites is Annie’s Organic Shells & White Cheddar. Which I typically substitute the milk with Greek Yogurt. Which also means I never need to add any butter.

This weekend I made it EVEN healthier. I stirred in sweet potato baby puree. IT WAS SO GREAT! The bonus: it takes on the appearance of typical ‘orange’ mac & cheese; which I assume may make a picky toddler even more likely to eat it.

Let me know if you try it. Baby approved!

The Self-Timer Photo: Make Memories for Mom

"self timer photo", Motherhood

Around the time my daughter was 6 months old I started to notice most pictures were of she and my husband. My Mother mentioned she always wished she had more photos with my brother and I as babies. Seeing as she was always taking the photos, and my Dad never thought to do so for her (my husband falls into the same category). PLUS many of the sweet moments I spend with my daughter are while no one else is around.

Refusing to have the same regret, I took matters into my own hands: THE SELF-TIMER on the camera. Many great,  priceless photos that I will cherish forever have now come from my personal photog: [the] ‘Self-Timer’.

Tips to Try:

  • Always use the flash, no matter the lighting. It just seems to make a better photo every time.
  • Sit the camera on anything at least waist high [if you’re standing].
  • Nothing high enough to sit the camera on where you want a photo? Make something! I’ve stacked chairs and books…!

Check a few of them out.

Baby’s First Solids Feeding Solution

"pacifier spoon", "pacifier and feeding device", Spoonifier, "baby first solid foods"When we first started baby Ella on solids at 6 months she was not very excited about it. She would spit out the food or simply refuse it. Call it mothers intuition, but I thought to put the pureed food on her pacifier and it worked instantly. She swallowed all of the food I gave her.

After a bit of Googling I came across the fact that the ‘pacifier-spoon’ method for teaching baby to eat solid foods was recommended by speech therapists/feeding therapists!

Jump ahead, and I am now marketing this concept patent for the patent owner (yes, it was already patented, only a few weeks before I researched patenting the idea myself! What are the odds…)

Check out a video of the Pacifier-Spoon method:

Did you come across this post because you were having trouble getting your baby to eat solids? Let me know [by commenting] how this works for you and your baby!
