BEST Baked Pumpkin Seeds

"salty pumpkin seeds", "sweet pumpkin seeds", "pumpkin flavored pumpkin seeds"

Happy Fall!

[Taken from TLC Family , then adapted a bit]

Preheat oven to 350°F. Separate the pumpkin seeds from the fibers. Wash, drain, and dry the seeds on paper towels. Coat 11/2 cups seeds with 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. Toss the seeds with salt (or omit salt and toss seeds with any of the suggested seasonings below), and spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake, stirring occasionally, 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Sugar and Spice Pumpkin Seeds

Add 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice. (I used Pumpkin Spice instead of Allspice. Super good!)

Super YUMMY Natural Baby Breakfast

"baby eating", "baby eating oatmeal", Oatmeal

I want Ella to eat lots of oatmeal for the extra iron, vitamins, and minerals it provides. I buy her Earth’s Best Whole Grain Organic; either ‘Apple Sweet Potato, or just Original. (I also saw Dr. Sears recommend this on a random YouTube clip I came across)Baby oatmeal, organic, Earth's Best, Whole Grain

To get her to actually enjoy eating oatmeal I have figured out the BEST [natural] concoction:

    • 1/4 cup of the oatmeal
    • [about] 1/8 cup of water
    • 3 tablespoons plain Whole Milk Yogurt with honey
    • Dash of cinnamon [to taste]
    • Teaspoon organic-nothing added Peanut Butter (optional)

Smart Healthy Baby Solid Food: Mac & Cheese

I want to keep my little-baby-beauty, Ella, as healthy as possible. So I feed her as ‘clean’ and organic as possible, when possible.

One of Ella’s favorites is Annie’s Organic Shells & White Cheddar. Which I typically substitute the milk with Greek Yogurt. Which also means I never need to add any butter.

This weekend I made it EVEN healthier. I stirred in sweet potato baby puree. IT WAS SO GREAT! The bonus: it takes on the appearance of typical ‘orange’ mac & cheese; which I assume may make a picky toddler even more likely to eat it.

Let me know if you try it. Baby approved!

Baby’s First Solids Feeding Solution

"pacifier spoon", "pacifier and feeding device", Spoonifier, "baby first solid foods"When we first started baby Ella on solids at 6 months she was not very excited about it. She would spit out the food or simply refuse it. Call it mothers intuition, but I thought to put the pureed food on her pacifier and it worked instantly. She swallowed all of the food I gave her.

After a bit of Googling I came across the fact that the ‘pacifier-spoon’ method for teaching baby to eat solid foods was recommended by speech therapists/feeding therapists!

Jump ahead, and I am now marketing this concept patent for the patent owner (yes, it was already patented, only a few weeks before I researched patenting the idea myself! What are the odds…)

Check out a video of the Pacifier-Spoon method:
